My Bio
Kiana Kangaroo-Paw

Ink Alchemist

Portland, Oregon

21 years ago, I emerged into this dimension bloody and screaming, with a desire to inflict my art upon the world.

Today, I am a tattooist, illustrator, and painter, or whatever may suit my fancy at the moment. I specialize in sacred geometry, bio-organica, flora, fauna, kaleidoscopic patterns, cosmic fractals, and general imagination collaboration...

I believe tattoos should be as unique as the individual, and so I like to take the time to get to know the people I'm working with.

I run a small, private tattoo studio by the name of Kangaroo Paw Tattoo. Check my facebook page for more info.

Well, since it's been a reeeeally long time since my last journal post (what?  Like a couple YEARS?) I decided it was high time to update the dA world on my current goings-on. The years past have not exactly been easy for me, (although I have a great many happy memories).  Of course it cannot rain forever- and as of Feb. 10th I have successfully achieved my dream of opening my own tattoo studio. It's a tiny-ass little place, but that suits me just fine- I'm the only one working here.  I'm calling it Kangaroo Paw tattoo, and have adopted the same title for my own name. I seem to be attracting the attention of an unusual crowd.  For awhile n

Back Again

Although I never announced it in the first place- I'm back from a short hiatus from dA.  Because of my lack of a permanent home for the past couple of seasons, I haven't had regular internet access, and I haven't been tattooing anyways (I am no longer working for Forbidden Body Art, and starting this week I will be seeking employment elsewhere). The past month, however, has been very exciting for me, as I had the opportunity to travel through Europe.  I was able to visit Lyon, Paris, Berlin, Budapest, Prauge, and Amsterdam (in that order).  I saw many beautiful, new and interesting things, met lots of cool people, and best of all, got to vis

At Last

So, the winter was kind of a bummer.  I moved four times, and did a bit of couch-surfing in between.  I got screwed over by a few people and learned some life lessons.  I was stressed out, and didn't take very good care of myself. Now, I'm not one to tempt fate, but it seems my woes have come to an end.  Last month, I moved into a very nice, but affordable studio.  I'm all settled in and now, I like it a lot... it feels like it was made just for me, and I'm near the heart of the city again, right were I want to be.  Freya (my boa constrictor) seems happier, too. For quite a while she was refusing food, but decided to stop scaring me to death

Hey, I added you to my dev watch list a couple years back because I found you on the deviantart forums and you were giving this noob some sass, and I thought your work was was wicked awesome, so I watched you.

A friend asked today what my favorite tattoo artists were, anywhere in the country, and I brought up your name.

Of all things, I absolutely adore your application of color, especially in the nautilus tattoo.

I've never been to Portland, but I will someday, and when I do, I will make sure to find you and have you do some rainbow-esque piece for me. :D

That's kind of over-done, don't you think?  There are way better ideas for joke tattoos out there.  In fact, I spent this past week doing quite a few genital tattoos for a couple of clowns.  The highlight?  Chainsaw tattoo on a penis.
Thank you for your support, Ink warrior
Fuck yeah, fellow Portlander.
All hail the city of weird!  And unicorns.
